Supplies to Make a Paper Roll Butterfly:

 

• Toilet paper roll
• Wiggly eyes
• Coloured buttons
• Coloured cardboard
• Acrylic paint
• Pipe cleaner
• Black permanent marker
• Paintbrush
• Butterfly wing template
• Glue

Steps to Make These Toilet Paper Roll Butterflies

1. Paint the paper roll a colour of your choice and let it dry. You may need to paint a few coats for lighter colours.

2. For the wings, fold a piece of cardboard in half. Trace the template from our new book or draw your own wings.

 

3. Cut out the wings.

4. Glue coloured buttons to the butterfly wings. Or have fun decorating the wings however you’d like! You can use pom poms, craft gems or even just colour on your own designs.

 

5. To make the antennae, bend the pipe cleaner into the shape of a “V”. Curl the tips of the “V” down.

6. Glue the antennae to the inside top of the paper roll. Glue the wiggly eyes near the top of the paper roll and draw a mouth with the black marker.

8. Finally, glue the wings to the back of the paper roll.

Highlights from President Ramaphosa’s Address:

1.State of emergency declared according to the Disaster Management Act.
2.Travel ban for incoming visitors from high-risk countries from Wednesday 18 March. This includes China, Iran, Korea, Germany, Italy and Spain (those mentioned in the speech)
3. Visas cancelled already for visitors from high and medium risk countries.
4. SA citizens returning from high-risk countries will be tested with forced quarantine.
5. SA citizens returning from Medium risk countries will be subject to additional screening.
6. Several ports of entry will be closed across all modes of transport.
7. Non-essential international travel for Government banned.
8. Local travel for Government limited.
9. Gatherings of more than 100 people prohibited
10. Mass celebrations and government functions will be cancelled.
11. Small gatherings will attract stringent precautionary measures by organisers.
12. Schools will be closed from 18 March until after Easter weekend. School holiday in June will be one week shorter.
13. All sectors to increase hygiene control, including malls and shopping centres.
14. Government testing and surveillance systems being reviewed.
15. Additional isolation and quarantine venues being sought.
16. Setting up national tracking and reporting system in collaboration with the private sector.
17. Government to start a campaign for general and ongoing hygiene.
18. Additional funding to be allocated to departments dealing with the pandemic.
19. Government command and control to be implemented and meet three times a week.

There are countries where books are something that only the elite have access to, but with the way things are changing it can be said that in near future, as long as you have access to the internet, all books will be available to inquisitive minds of the world.

Each one of us is a creator, some people are fantastic with words, others can paint in ways that bring us to tears, there are people who work with their hands creating furniture pieces that stand the test of time. Designers bring drawings to life in the clothing, pictures, buildings, parks, bridges, nature reserves and all kinds of beautiful things that surround us. Even music starts with a thought that breaks out into sound and rhythm.

The beginning of it all will find a way onto paper, songs need to be written and the sheet music must be laid out. For a designer dress to find its way onto a hanger in your cupboard, a drawing is put in a drawing pad. For architects to put their thoughts into order, they draw a sketch of what they see. Even graphic novels begin on paper with a pencil. From there the path of endless creative mediums is open, different paints, crayons, chalks, instruments, textures, fabrics all waiting to find a way to bring emotion to those around it. The manifestation of your art is up to you.
